“Every step I have taken in my life has led me here, now.”⁣ ❤️🔥⁣

Last night I did something I never thought I’d do… I presented the ‘infamous’ “Denali Diaries” to a community of fellow outdoor enthusiasts in Chamonix!! It felt completely surreal…. Me sharing MY story to people with significantly more stoke & experience… in a place to a community that have played a fundamental role in shaping my outdoor experiences. How on earth did this happen & how did life come full-circle? ⁣

Chamonix has provided me with non-stop inspiration since my first visit about 10 years ago. Nestled in the shadow of some of the worlds most stunning rugged mountain terrain are my mountain and life mentors, coaches, & dear friends… as well as warming cheese fondues, bottomless vin-chauds, & salty saucissons. Chamonix has been the classroom for my climbing journey… It’s a town that has built me up & grounded me in equal measure… the latter sometimes more harshly than the former. ⁣⁣

The opportunity to share everything that I’ve learned to a community that’s long inspired me was a true honour. It was also a reminder of the importance of learning & giving back. Sharing mountaineering & adventure stories & the lessons learned along the way gives me happiness and energy. And it’s so easy when you have a curious, engaged & animated audience which challenge me to think of my own journey with their questions & dialogue. ⁣⁣

I come away from these presentations inspired by the energy, ideas, conversations, new friends and a determination to continue learning. It’s humbling. Whilst the mountains of Chamonix and beyond beckon & fill me with fire, the energy I get from sharing my passion make journeys like this complete.⁣⁣
